Gurur in Balod District of Chhattisgarh is one of its tehsils located at the distance of around 26 km towards south from its district headquarters and almost 79 km to the north from the state capital - Raipur. Gurur was once part of Durg district before Balod was separated from it and formed as the 19th district of Chhattisgarh in the year 2012. It shares its boundaries with Gunderdehi Tehsil to the north, Charama Tehsil to the south and Dhamtari Tehsil to the east.
